Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026

1. Scope of This Policy

This policy applies to personal information collected through our website at northpeakaccounting.ca, including through our contact inquiry form.

It does not apply to information collected through other means, such as direct email correspondence or client engagement agreements, which are governed by separate arrangements.

2. Information We Collect

When you submit an inquiry through our website, we collect the information you choose to provide, which may include:

  • Full name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Service of interest
  • Your inquiry or message
  • Optional marketing communication consent
  • Date and time of recorded marketing consent, where applicable

We do not provide financial-document upload functionality through our public website. Please do not include confidential financial records, tax information, banking details, or other sensitive personal information in the contact form.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information you provide to:

  • Respond to your inquiry
  • Assess whether our services may be a fit for your needs
  • Communicate with prospective clients
  • Maintain records of correspondence and consent
  • Protect the website against spam, misuse, and automated submissions

4. Marketing Communications

Visitors may separately choose to receive occasional business updates, accounting insights, and information about NorthPeak's services by selecting the optional marketing consent checkbox.

Where consent is provided, we record the consent selection and submission timestamp.

You may withdraw marketing consent at any time by contacting [email protected] or using the unsubscribe instructions included in any marketing communication.

We do not currently operate an automated marketing mailing list through the website.

5. Website Analytics and Cookie Preferences

Our website uses GoDaddy's platform analytics service (SCC/C2) to help us understand how visitors interact with the website. This service is provided by GoDaddy and is subject to GoDaddy's own privacy policy and data processing practices.

The analytics script is not loaded until a visitor explicitly accepts optional analytics through the cookie consent banner. If a visitor declines, the analytics script does not load and no analytics data is collected or transmitted during that visit.

When a visitor accepts, the analytics script is loaded and click-event interactions may be recorded. Such interactions may include page titles, navigation selections, and link or button interactions. The nature and scope of data collected by GoDaddy's analytics service is governed by GoDaddy's privacy policy.

Visitors may accept or decline optional analytics through the cookie consent banner. Cookie preferences are stored in browser storage for up to 365 days. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by calling window.revokeAnalyticsConsent() in the browser console, which will clear the stored preference and re-display the consent banner. Withdrawal prevents our click-event tracking code from pushing further events to the data layer. However, if the analytics script was already loaded earlier in the same browser session, it cannot be removed from the page without a full page reload; any autonomous activity by GoDaddy's script during that session is governed by GoDaddy's privacy policy. On the next visit after withdrawal, the analytics script will not load unless the visitor accepts again.

Essential website functions — such as page navigation, the contact form, and remembering your cookie preference — operate independently of optional analytics consent and are not affected by declining.

6. Service Providers and Disclosure

We use GoDaddy website hosting and Inbox services, including associated service providers, to operate our website and process contact inquiries.

Information submitted through our contact form is transmitted to GoDaddy's Inbox system so NorthPeak can receive and respond to inquiries.

We may also disclose information when required or permitted by applicable law, or when reasonably necessary to protect our rights, systems, and services.

We do not sell personal information submitted through the website.

7. Processing and Storage Locations

Our website and communication services rely on third-party technology providers. Personal information may be processed or stored in Canada or other jurisdictions, depending on the service providers' operations and arrangements.

Where information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Our website is hosted on GoDaddy's platform, which provides standard technical security measures.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Retention of Information

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including responding to inquiries, maintaining appropriate business records, demonstrating consent, and meeting applicable legal obligations.

When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete or securely dispose of it, subject to applicable retention requirements.

10. Access, Corrections, and Withdrawal of Consent

Subject to applicable law, individuals may request access to their personal information, request corrections, ask questions about its handling, or withdraw consent where withdrawal is available.

To make a request, please contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before responding.

11. Children's Privacy

Our website and services are directed to businesses and business professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18.

12. Links to Other Websites

Our website may contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
